Château Laroque Grand Cru 2018
We always knew there was great potential at this large, but nevertheless high-quality, estate and with 2018 we feel that Château Laroque has pulled out all the stops. The nose is packed full of plum, fruits of the forest and a hint of mocha. On the palate, there’s a tight ball of sweet Merlot fruit – with cassis and bilberry balanced by a hint of espresso bean. Rich tannins give it a lift on the back palate. It has a brightness and precision that belies its hidden depths. A storming success and the château’s best wine to date. Drink 2025-2035.
