Domaine Girard L`Othentique Vin Mousseux Brut Méthode Traditionnelle
A fantastic new addition to our portfolio. From the Domaine Girard family estate, Patrick has been the owner since 1991 and in 2013 his son, Guillaume, joined him. The estate is located between 2 rivers (Sèvre & Maine), in the heart of the Muscadet area. Thanks to this situation the main production is the Muscadet Sèvre et Maine sur lie (90% of the vineyard surface area). The vineyard is planted on schist and gneiss subsoils which gives elegant fruity aromas and very interesting mineral hints to the wines that are produced here. This wonderful sparkling wine which is a blend of 80% melon de Bourgogne, 10% Pinot Gris, 5% folle Blanche(grappe variety of Gros plant) and 5% Cabernet franc is fresh and light, yet complex and elegant at the same time. Pretty small bubbles abound and are gentle and soft in the mouth. Flavours of apple and pear and notes on the nose of summer time in the fields. This is a fantastic find and we`re sure it will become a firm favourite alongside the Muscadet le Fleuron.
