Nizza - is itself, a new DOCG - there are just 44 producers - in Monferrato, Piedmont - The first DOCG Nizza was produced in 2014 and released in 2016. The DOCG has very detailed controls. 100% Barbera grapes which are hand harvested using crates with selected picking of the best grapes. Fermentation in stainless steel with ageing in medium toast large French barriques. Deep ruby red in colour with purple hues. The nose is rich and complex. Spice, rich black plum, fruit syrup, tobacco and elderberry and emerge from the glass. A big firm full wine which is balanced and structured - wonderfully smooth with a long persistent and enticing finish. Our first shipment of this wonderful wine - you will not be disappointed.
